Everywhere you look there is a constant reminder of April’s promise to bring May flowers. The landscape along the St Lawrence River has become green. Some gardeners are taunting Mother Nature by planting tomato plants and hoping there will not be a frost!

Seasoned gardeners Jim and Liz Halpen always have an amazing garden that is envied by all. From May through November they are busy growing an array of fruits, vegetables and herbs. Jim is famous for garlic and potatoes. Liz can grow an herb garden like no other. The season has just begun and already Jim has blossoms in his strawberry bed.
With the St. Lawrence River in the background a fine crop of strawberries are beginning to blossom…
The trees are in full bloom and they dot the shores of the river with explosions of pink, white and purple. This crab tree adds a pop of color to the blue backdrop of the river.

Enjoy the river, and keep your gardens growing!
